Takenaka Singapore Pte Ltd is proud to have been a part of the successful completion of FaithActs x Ibasho Margaret Drive Centre.

The official opening ceremony was held on 30 March 2024, graced by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information & Ministry of National Development, and attended by our very own Mr Leslie Teng, DGM, Takenaka Singapore Pte Ltd, Mr Tamotsu Takao, GM, Construction Planning, Asia Region, and Mr Ryusuke Kojio, Head of Sustainability and Circularity, Asia Region.

For those who do not already know, “ibasho” (居場所) in Japanese refers to “a place where you can be yourself”. Singapore, like Japan and South Korea, is facing a rapidly ageing population; it is expected that about one in four citizens will be aged 65 and above by 2030. Thus, it is important to bridge the inter-generational gap through meaningful interaction between the old and the young, to bring about a society entrenched in respect and mutual support.

The FaithActs x Ibasho Margaret Drive Centre aims to do just that by providing not only the space for such activities, but also a range of programmes that bring multi-generational users together to pass some enriching hours there. Takenaka is therefore honoured to have played a part in delivering this conducive and comfortable space for the activities to take place.

Congratulations to the Ibasho Project Team!
